💧 Simple Definition
Kangen Water® = Electrolyzed Reduced Water (ERW).
Kangen Water machines are Japanese medical grade water ionizers that convert your tap water, through the process of electorlysis, into mineral-rich, antioxidant water with multiple functional uses.
⚡️ How It’s Created (At a Glance)
- Filtration: Tap water first passes through a high-quality carbon filter. This removes chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, detergents, sediments and fine particles while keeping beneficial minerals like calcium and magnesium (1).
- Electrolysis: The filtered water flows across platinum-coated titanium plates. Here, electrical current separates the water into two streams:
- Alkaline reduced water (Kangen Water®): Rich in minerals, negative ORP (antioxidant), and dissolved molecular hydrogen (2).
- Acidic oxidized water: Lower pH waters with disinfecting or cosmetic uses.
- Output: The machine produces 5 different waters at the touch of a button — from 2.5 pH acidic water to 11.5 pH alkaline.

📝 Why It’s Different
- Not bottled “alkaline water”: Those are made by adding chemical powders (sodium bicarbonate, etc.) to artificially raise pH (3).
- Not just filtered water: Many filters remove contaminants but also strip minerals. Kangen keeps minerals and adds antioxidant potential.
- A living system: One machine, multiple waters → each with different purposes for hydration, health, cooking, beauty, and cleaning.
